The November water sample from the Ucluelet Aquarium was collected late last week. Aquarium biologist Andrew McCurdy collected the sample from the Aquarium’s main tank. The aquarium uses a recirculating seawater system which has origins at a depth of 6 m (18 ft) in the harbor in front of the aquarium.
If you’re in the area, the Aquarium will be releasing all of it’s animals on December 5th as it prepares to shut down for the winter tank cleaning season. You can help out by bringing a bucket to release a critter yourself!
